Legal Tech Hackathon

The Institute of Computer Science and the Faculty of Law will organize
the 1st Legal Tech Hackathon 2019 of the university Heidelberg from 5.4 to 7.4.2019. The Hackathon will be held in the Legal Seminar (Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage 6-10, 69117 Heidelberg). The hackathon will be organized by the “Digitales Recht” promotion college.

What is it about? Legal Tech includes software and online services that
should facilitate legal work processes. Legal Tech goes hand in hand with the digitization of the law. The Hackathon is a practically very relevant and future-oriented application area of computer science and software development. At the beginning of the Hackathons some possible legal projects are presented. Participants are also welcome to submit their own project ideas in the process.

Who’s in? The aim of the hackathon is to bring together lawyers and software developers together. The mixed teams should lead to interesting and relevant information for the legal sector. Develop and implement software and apps prototypically.
Each Team consists of 3-4 people and should consist of students with
programming skills and law students.

If you have ideas for projects, please include them in your application and pitch it on site! If you don’t have any ideas yet you can be informed about the ideas of the various projects, get inspired and join a team. Participation is free of charge. Catering is provided.

What happens next? Since the number of seats is limited to 45, we will select suitable candidates after the registration deadline mentioned above.
You will be informed by 15.3.2019 whether or not you will be able to participate at the Hackathon.
